Go ahead–call me a flake. Remember yesterday when I said that I was going to go to Bikram Yoga after work? Well, my inner Sissy got the better of me and I didn’t go. Not even when my boss, who was the one who got me into Bikram in the first place, calculated for me the monetary value of the wasted class sessions, was I motivated to go. I was just… not feeling it. So much for exercising willpower.
To be fair, I kept myself busy when I got home last night. First off, I finished folding and putting away all my freshly-washed clothes. Then I packed all the stuff I will be bringing on my trip to Palawan this afternoon. I got everything ready so that I wouldn’t have to be stressed today.
This morning though, wasn’t any better. I had to skip my BodyRock and POP Pilates workouts because my SmartBRO internet connection sucked BIG TIME. As a matter of fact, it’s been sucking for almost a month now. What is up with that, Smart? None of the online videos would complete downloading no matter what I did–I restarted the connection, restarted the USB modem, even restarted the laptop. Still, nada.
Lunch was a challenge as well. My colleague, who had her birthday last week, invited me, our boss, and one other officemate to a post-birthday lunch out. I was brainstorming a battle plan in my head when they all voted to eat at Charlie’s Grind and Grill, a popular burger joint near our office. That is easily one of my favorite restaurants here in Manila and when I heard we were eating there… I’m so sorry to say that all bets were off. I had the Black Angus Burger with Sweet Potato Fries, washed down with a glass of their house iced tea. It was delicious, and it was sinful.
I swear I’ll think of something to make up for this unplanned cheat day.
I better think of something good though, because my client in Palawan just called me and invited me to dinner tonight. And as much as I wanted to politely say no, I thought about the many ways my declination might be interpreted… so I said yes. Gah. My heart bleeds for this major speed bump in my quest for a leaner body.
But nothing worth having is ever easy, right? Leaving for the airport in a while. See y’all later.
