Thinking of going back to weight lifting.

Status

I find that I’m getting bored with just sticking to exercise videos, commercial (like the Jillian Michaels series and others like it) or otherwise (like BodyRock and POP Pilates). This is NOT to say that these videos are bad or ineffective–I love BodyRock and POP Pilates; they were my exercise staple when I first began to exercise regularly–it’s just that by nature, I get bored easily and now I’m bored of exercising by myself, whether to Jillian Michaels or the BodyRock team or Cassey Ho. I think it’s time for a change of scene. :)

Notes

Ugh. Felt really sore today… and didn’t sleep well last night. For some reason I woke up at around 2 am and couldn’t get back to sleep after that. So I spent the time fixing my room some and packing the things I would be bringing with me to Batangas. My coworker and I were scheduled to visit some clients here in Lipa City and will be staying here until Friday.

All throughout our fieldwork today I could feel some of my muscles hurting here and there, and it was a challenge to drive my car. All I could think about was getting a massage at La Corona de Lipa, the hotel we’re staying in, once we’re done with the client visits.

But that plan’s going to have to be put on the back burner though. On a last minute notice one of our client visits was rescheduled at 8:30 pm later, and by our estimate–since we will be doing some demos and stuff–we won’t finish until around midnight. :( There goes my target bedtime. Oh well.

On a separate note, I really enjoyed the Jillian Michaels workouts I did today. And in case you’re wondering, yes, I only did five minutes of the Killer Buns & Thighs workout. That’s because a minor household accident happened just as I got to the end of the warmup, so I had to cut the workout and do some damage control before it got worse.

I hope I can still wake up early tomorrow despite the uber-late sleeping time. I want to be able to stick to my workout schedule. For the meantime, I’m going to get a bit of rest. We’ve got a long night ahead. Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Notes

As I so obsessively showed you all yesterday, today I started working out with the oh-so-kick-ass Jillian Michaels. I decided to go with the exercise video route because due to my obsessive-compulsive nature, choosing and planning my POP Pilates and BodyRock workouts becomes very time-consuming for me. So I decided to do away with that part for the meantime and let a fitness professional lead the way. Heh heh.

I woke up at five this morning (though I set my alarm for four–meh) and got things going with Jillian’s Extreme Shed Shred. Since I didn’t know what to expect (I didn’t take a peek at the video beforehand), and also because I was a bit short on time thanks to my sleepiness, I stuck with Level 1. It was a great cardio workout, and contained a lot of compound exercises, which I liked a lot. I wish I had hand weights around, though. Working with just my bodyweight has become a bit too easy for me.

Tomorrow I’m going to do Ripped in 30 and Killer Buns Thighs. I can’t wait. :-)
